Well, I believe that we are all on our own journey, and it's a journey that was set up before we were born.

So, I guess I do believe in this statement.

However, that is my personal viewpoint and I know that it's not the right one for everybody.

I also know that this kind of statement is a hard one to take when you are the one who has suffered a loss.

So I normally keep my view on this to myself, and I don't push it on anyone else.

Well, the way I look at it is this: it doesn't mean that we don't try. You can suffer a heart attack and come out of it.

The same way some people survive illnesses, while others don't.

I'm a believer personally that my life is predestined to be what it will be-I also believe that I'm given free will to make my own decisions-some may take me down a path that shortens my life, others may give me longevity-and because I don't know what my destiny is, I do what I can to be safe and healthy but accept that life is not a promise and longevity may not be what was intended for my life or the life of others--

Just my personal belief.

I believe it as stated, but not at all from any designated belief system and nothing to do with predestination. But yes, I think that due to a myriad of things we have no control over and the few things we do, when it's time it's time. And as you say, @Marienkaefer2 - thinking it's possible a given moment or situation might be my time won't stop me from trying to reach for the ledge and pull myself up and out.
