How do you feel about "GoFundMe"?

I have a friend who's house partially burned and another friend, who is always flaunting her finances, started a GoFundMe for this friend!

They apparently do not need the money, just asking because they can! Your thoughts!

I have used it, selectively, over the years. I try to do a bit of research on my own, before making a donation.

I gave for a Boy Scout to buy paint for his Eagle Scout project. That was a good one.

I gave to a family member who said they had no money to bury their husband. Found out they got an insurance policy. Not happy about that.

I gave to a childhood neighbor who went through breast cancer. Supposedly to pay for treatment.She posted more vacations that year than I went on in 2 years. Not happy about that one either.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

I give money to people I know personally who are in need. I have never donated to any GoFundMe account, and am not in favor of them.

It's a big NO for me. It's amazing how easy it is to donate directely to the family of an officer or firefighter who died in the line of duty. A police dog hurt in the line of duty. Very few are legit. Look at Antonella. A new free lifestyle for her & her hubby funded by fans.

Maybe the insurance policy didn't cover the complete cost of the funeral. Funerals are expensive.
