How do you decide?

I just wondered how you all decide what charitable organizations you donate to. I have limited amount of money that I can donate each year. There are so many very important and necessary organizations that need help and I would like to be generous to so many of them. I feel strongly about stray animal care, children's hospitals, my religious affiliation, the homeless, abused woman, the Red Cross(especially in the tornado & hurricane season) .It just seems like the needs are never ending and my funds are limited. How do you decide?
