I wear green, and have some decorations up in my home.
I don't like Irish cuisine....I usually make something Tex-Mex! Sometimes I pour some beer into a pitcher and add a few drops of green food coloring. And I might pick up something with green frosting from the bakery for dessert.

I wear green if I think about it. No special meaning to me. Love to see what other people do, though.

It is the day of my twin grand daughters birth...so we partay! I am also Catholic and St. Patty is my patron Saint from baptism. Double meaning for me.

In following Irish tradition, it is referred to as St. Paddy's after the Irish name Padraig (Patrick).
It is a glorious celebration with family and friends. I just put all of the decorations out today.
I look forward to it every year.

Thanks for the explanation! I always thought it was St. Patrick, but St. Paddy's day but come to think about it, I never wondered WHY! It's a good day when you learn something!

I don't.
If I'm out, I might wear green, in case some people still believe it's okay on that day to assault anyone who isn't wearing green.
I may cook corned beef and cabbage...just because I can.
Otherwise, it's just another day

It is Patrick . He was not Irish. He was British and Roman.
