I've never done anything to mine. So far, I've been brushing my own teeth for about 70 years without a problem, so I think I'll just continue my past practice.

I do toss my brush after a cold or flu.

Hey, we never know where toothbrushes have been during the manufacturing and packaging process. Always better to at least wash off the brush first. Just in case a batch of brushes accidentally fell off of the assembly line, etc. Never hurts to be careful.

No, I've never washed a new toothbrush. And when I was a kid, we not only had all the family toothbrushes in one cup...but my siblings and I intentionally tried out everyone else's brushes...just for the heck of it!

I never thought of that. lol. I take it out of the package and use it right away. I get most of my tooth brushes from the dentist and change them regularly.

I clean mine with peroxide.

If you knew what was lurking in the nooks and crannies of your dishwasher, never mind under the "works" in the bottom of the machine, you'd never put your toothbrush in there.

Put Listerine in a cup and stand your toothbrush in it for several minutes.

Was just reading about all the viruses and bacteria in dishwashers. I have a sanitize setting on mine.
