I bought the CPR call blocker on Amazon.  Where did you get yours?  I looked at the Digitone and was scared off by the manufacturers warning.  It said the directions of installation can be complicated for many.  It went on and on about instalation.  I don't want anything complicated.  How was your installation?

@shoekitty

I know what you mean. While Digitone was the highest rated call blocker it also mentioned that it’s more complicated to use. That idea bothered me too. This is the only call blocking device I’ve ever used so I don’t know how it compares to others. My experience is that it’s easy to install by plugging into the back of the phone. I find the numbers are also easy to block by pressing the block button twice. Beyond that, the booklet can seem complicated because of the different programming capabilities. You can program the phone to stop ringing at certain times of the day or create a list of VIP callers that can call at any time. I finally bookmarked the pages I use most often and keep it by the phone.

The only programming I’ve done is to block area codes so I’ll use that as an example. For me to block an area code I press the programming button on Digitone. I hold that until it flashes, then you turn on the phone, the call blocker will ask for “program code” (listed in the booklet). I press the numbers on the phone that corresponds to that code which is 40 – then enter the area code – then press *. Now the area code is blocked. I have those instructions underlined in the book since I use that.

The other thing I use is the program to check what numbers are blocked and unblock certain numbers. The example for that - press the programming button on Digitone until it flashes, turn on the phone, Digitone will ask for the program code, which in this case is 41 (listed in the booklet), I press those numbers on the phone and it lists all the phone numbers that are blocked. I can scroll through them and if I decide to unblock some numbers I can do that by pressing the block button. I also have this underlined in the booklet.

It can seem overwhelming at first but I’ve gotten used to it. The above are real life examples of how it works.

ETA - I bought mine directly from Digitone.

Re: How do I block a phone number?

We went with the Digitone (thru Amazon) because it was the highest rated by Consumer Reports.

There really isn't much to set up. We plugged it in, connected it to our phone and that was it for installation.

It automatically blocks all 800#, 900#, unknown, out of area or any other anonymous calls, by default.

If you want to receive certain 800#, 900# calls you can either program them in or the next time they call, you can push the'Invite' button and it will no longer block that particular #.

If you receive a call you don't want, just press the 'Block' button twice (without even answering the call) and it will block that call and any future calls from that number.

You can also block certain area codes if you want.

HTH!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
