6 degrees right now in southern WV.

It was -14 this morning in my Minneapolis-St. Paul suburb, but it's something like 7 now.   This week we will get back up into the 30's!  So weird.

I got up this morning to find the thermometer outside my north kitchen window a whopping 3 degrees!!!  EGAD baby it's CCCOLD outside! 

I heard/read it would be a bad winter this year, the infamous "they" are not wrong so far and it's only mid December!!!

We still have 3 months worth of winter and cold and snow and ice and well...

Stay inside if you can. Plan your outings so that you can conquer all your errands on the day you plan to have to go out!

18 today, but 30 tomorrow. 30 is around our average high this time of year.

At 5:30 it was 1 in southern WV, up to 20 now.  I opened the door at 10:30 to get my UPS packages, but no way am I trekking down the driveway for mail!

19 this morning.  25F was the warmest it got.  Been like this for several days.  Should warm up tomorrow.  In the mid 30's. Lots of black ice on the street.  Risky getting mail.  I had to put on those ice straps to get it.  Still almost slipped.

still continues to be cold, very cold.

This past weekend, when asking a neighbor for simple 'twist-off cap' help, I discovered that this adult son and his working Mom had lost their heat, yet were being adequately sustained by a mere (2) Apt Complex supplied room heater box units, until Monday.

Later Monday, day, I made a neighboring, follow-up call/text to them asking if they cont'd to be warm enough, & did indeed ourApt Complex Mgt complete the fix their entire heating unit. Yes!

What surprises me is that my neighbors were absolutely shocked, that their neighbor continued to be so invested in their neighborly welfare as to make a follow up call to them.

Says a lot, about our present day times, when a caring "neighbors helping neighbors" follow up Call/Text shocks us.

I hope, that all *truly good-willed, *truly honorably-willed, *caring, *giving ppl continue to try to be actively committed to being actively neighborly . . 

Seems we desperately need it, perhaps, even now, more than ever!  .. really.  

Call me naive, but I still believe in being, invested in, honorably acting on, & providing where I can, 'cause -

         "It takes a Village ... "
