A little bit of germs to boost your immune system is good. Too much . . . I know some of my nieces and nephews that I swear were on antibiotics for ear infections the first 2-3 years of their lives . . . not so good . . . I don't even like that mine have been taking Bactrim (sp?) from their dermatologist for the past couple of years . . . but I did start them on a healthy immune system in their younger years but don't like the long term prescriptions. I take ONE prescription. My Armour Thyroid. And hope to keep it at only one for many years to come.

I hear you. I'm not a pill taker, either. Antibiotics scare me. My Dad passed away from C-Diff after being put on antibiotics, following a surgery. And the nurses didn't even bother to tell my family that C-Diff is contagious. It's a miracle that we didn't all get it. So, yeah... the rest of this forum can just excuse me of not being very trusting of science and the talking heads that try to convince us that everything is under control.

Science was not at fault, your father's caretakers were for not warning you or putting him in isolation. My daughter was thought to have C-Diff awhile back and she was put in isolation immediately.

Way to kick me when I'm down, eh? Thanks for that. Nothing else matters, as long as you're right. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

If you had included just a wee bit of empathy in your post, it possibly could have been taken better.

As long as I'm right? You haven't been arguing with me, you've been arguing with a lot of other people. Science isn't people. My mother also died because of human error. There's a difference.

Okay, look, I'm not in the mood right now. And for the record, I argued with one person, who found her way to my ignore list. All's well that ends well. I'm sorry for your loss.

And I am sorry for your loss. Human error, horrible.

Re: How To Overwhelm A System And Increasing Chances Of Mistakes

There are people being monitored in a few states now so if I have syptoms I feel it is my right to get checked out ...sooner treatment starts the better the outcome and the less chance of spreading to others.
