Re: How Many of You Own a KEURIG?

Got one for DH. He seems to love it.  I enjoy it for hot chocolate or Sleepy Time tea once in a while.  I'm not a coffee drinker.  Got DD one and she loves it.  Ours comes in handy during the holidays because everyone wants something different and DD "works it" while I'm taking care of the eats. [ Edited ]

This is such a long post; I admit I've only read the OP.

I don't care for the coffee brewed by the Keurig.  When my Farber percolator finally gave up the ghost, I got a Chemex and there was a learning curve but that is coffee I like:  strong as I want, which is strong.  I only have 1-2 cups a day.  Never bitter and never bland.

I like plain coffee, not flavors.

Two of my brothers love their Keurigs  because the various people in their households like different beverages--totally I get that.  For plain coffee?  It's not a good choice.  I love tea, too, but make it in a teapot.  I have a temp. controlled kettle, so I can program it differently for coffee or green tea.

These are not things I want all day long--but I like them fresh and plain when I do have them.

I have a keurig.  Bought it on the q about eight years ago.  I don't drink much coffee.  I use it when house guests come.  It works great, love the convenience.

Not me. I still prefer a coffee maker. One steeply priced cup at a time might have some advantage, I guess I just haven't figured out what it is yet.

Oh, and I also don't own a Vitamix. I have plans to get one of those either.

I absolutely LOVE my Vitamix.  I believe it's made me eat more veggies and fruits and that made it worth the price. Smiley Very Happy

Re: How Many of You Own a KEURIG?

Keurig sent me a free machine when they were gifting them a few years ago. It died within six months. I would never pay any amount of money to replace such an unreliable machine. The coffee was watered down. I prefer grinding my own beans and using a regular drip machine. I paid $15.00 for it, and for the strong brew I like.

I have two of the same model. One in my kitchen, and one in my master bath/lounge/sitting room.

When my guests arrive, I move one into the guest bedroom with a nice tray of accessories.

Re: How Many of You Own a KEURIG?

I have one of the small ones that someone gave me for free!  I use it when my DH goes out of town since I only drink a cup or two of coffee in the morning.  When DH is home, we use our regular coffee maker as he drinks a lot of coffee and those pods are expensive even though I get them at Costco or on sale at Kohls when I have my 30% off coupon.

After DH passed, I switched to tea. I love coffee, but I certainly don't need it every day. I use my son's Keurig when I babysit-I think he's getting me one for Christmas. I hope it's not the one that takes the special pods.

I'm trying to think of a way to repurpose the used pods.

I am not one to spend on a fancy name-but the Vitamix is worth every penny-and you can get reconditioned machines.

I think the coffee is just fine from a Keurig, and I drink decaf.  I like strong decaf.  I stay at hotels often for my job, and the coffee is TERRIBLE at Marriotts.  My husband has commented on it too.  We miss our Keurig when we are traveling.  I don't care for Starbucks as it's too metallicy and lead tasting.  I like it stong not metallicy.

I like Dunkin Donuts decaf, but I prefer my home Keurig.  I buy all different varietals of decaf, but I prefer Peet's or Chock Full of Nuts decaf.

I'll never be without a Keurig as long as they make Keurigs.  I only drink one cup of decaf a day-- 2 max.

DH loves Keurig and drinks 3 cups.

I don't care about the cost of k kups as it's so convenient and I like the taste.  Panera coffee isn't as good as my Keurig and I even somewhat like Panera coffee.

I use coupons and get my k kups for about .50 cent a cup--totally worth it and far less than Starbucks.

I have a small one I take with me to motels.  Smiley Happy
