We own a Keurig, but I don't use it my husband does, and he uses fresh ground coffee not the pods. (He did use the pods originally but stopped after months).

I do not like coffee (like he does), I am a tea drinker. I use regular tea bags and heat the water in our microwave. Same with hot chocolate (on occasion), I make my own hot chocolate too without the Keurig.

Lastly- I might add our Keurig that was bought on QVC, (it is only a few years old) sounds terrible like its going to die soon, even though it has been well taken care of and cleaned regularly.

I have always been surprised that people who are worried about recycling aren't upset with all the k-cups that aren't recycled.  I'm sure people don't empty their cups and recycle them !

Got some Publix brand k-cup today, chocolate raspberry... fired the Keurig back up.. yummy, added a wee bit of milk, like drinking flavored milk chocolate..  recycled little cups..

Yes, I have called "Keurig Green Mountain" regarding this K-Cup problem.  They gave me the same speach..."They are researching a plan to redue the K-Cups, to make them better for the environment...This was over a year ago."  And what have they done to this point nothing!

I wish QVC would put pressure on "Keurig Green Mountain", to invest and put into the market a better K-Cup".   Or "Keurig Green Mountain" risk being dropped by QVC?  I bet this would get "Keurig Green Mountain", attention.   How many machines do you think they sold just today with the TSV, maybe 30,000 or more...?  And this is just with QVC here in the USA.  What about QVC and their "European Market" or  QVC, and their "Asian Market" place.  QVC is Huge...!  They can put pressure on "Keurig Green Mountain" to make a difference and be responsible. 

I wrote this post to bring awareness to what K-Cups are doing to "Our" environment.  To make people aware,  just how one little K-cup has grown into a huge environmental problem by the Billions!  

Some people write that they only use 1 or 2 a day...So, lets say they use 2 per day X that by 7 (days of the week) = 14 K-Cups in one week. Now, X this by 365 (days in the year) 730 K-Cups this one person is using.

Now, if your household is using 4 K-Cups per day.  This comes out to 1, 460 K-Cups per year your household is putting into the landfill.  And no these little K-Cups are not recyclable...No plant will take them...So, the little inserts that "Green Mountain" puts into your Keurig machines saying to rinse out and recycle means nothing.

Things get down in numbers.  Meaning, the more people complain the more pressure is put on "Keurig Green Mountain" to do the "Right Thing".  Numbers talk...Each and everyone of your voice's is a number.

I realize what I'm about to post really doesn't contribute to the conversation here, but seriously these posts popping up on Keurig days are as predictable anymore as the slam WEN when Chaz is coming up and the slam Logo threads on Mondays and tear apart Susan Graver on Thursdays.

It's simple - don't like Keurigs, DON'T BUY ONE!

I have five Keurigs:  I have one at our business and four at home (one in the kitchen, one in my master bath and two in guest rooms.  I love having mine in my master bath--it's on the second floor and I enjoy having my morning coffee without even leaving my room.

I held off from buying a Keurig for years and I'm a serious coffee lover.  Finally last year I bought a personal size Keurig when it was a TSV on Q.   I absolutely love the coffee produced with the Keurig and once in a while when I go back to regular Mr.Coffee coffeemaker I am disappointed in quality of coffee.

I am an avid Keurig fan now.

I think the coffee is just fine from a Keurig, and I drink decaf.  I like strong decaf.  I stay at hotels often for my job, and the coffee is TERRIBLE at Marriotts.  My husband has commented on it too.  We miss our Keurig when we are traveling.  I don't care for Starbucks as it's too metallicy and lead tasting.  I like it stong not metallicy.  

I like Dunkin Donuts decaf, but I prefer my home Keurig.  I buy all different varietals of decaf, but I prefer Peet's or Chock Full of Nuts decaf.

I'll never be without a Keurig as long as they make Keurigs.  I only drink one cup of decaf a day-- 2 max.

DH loves Keurig and drinks 3 cups.  

I don't care about the cost of k kups as it's so convenient and I like the taste.  Panera coffee isn't as good as my Keurig and I even somewhat like Panera coffee. 

I use coupons and get my k kups for about .50 cent a cup--totally worth it and far less than Starbucks.
