I may have years ago--but my family doesn't give gifts anymore--we just get together for a nice Xmas eve dinner and enjoy everyone. To figure out gifts to buy, these days when most everyone buys whatever they want whenever they want, is too difficult for my brain to handle. I have 2 b-days on the 23rd and on the 25th--they both got cash and coffee cards. Easy peasy!!.

I received a Promier cordless light switch, which is a battery operated combination wall switch/night light that can attach to metal with a magnet or to a wall with velcro. It was used. My great niece showed it to me in her mother's car before Christmas. She had it in the glove compartment and had not taken it out of the package, but she could still use it that way. I guess she was using it as the bulb was burned out in her car light. The package was all bent up. I opened the package Christmas Day and saw that it was the same bent up package. My great niece look mortified. Later she told me that she looked in her mother's glove compartment, and that her mother had purchased a new one and gave me the old one. (My great niece doesn't get along with her mother.) I told my great niece that it was fine and that I was pleased just to receive a useful gift.

@Sookie Says This post has me laughing! My sister sent a gift card for Christmas to . . . Village Inn! She knows I'm diabetic and won't step foot in that place. For the first time in my life, I will regift something. It will be returned to her in a birthday card in April. Can't make that stuff up. Thanks for all the comments about regifting! I wouldn't have had the nerve to do so otherwise. ![]()

Raising my hand.
I recycled two small gifts I did not like to people who I thought would enjoy them.
Another gift was thrown out: a candle I would not re-gift because I thought it smelled bad. I bet the person who gifted it to me never smelled the candle, but bought it solely on price.
Must find a way to discourage this person from exchanging gifts with me in the future.
Oh, re-gifted a bottle of Scotch to DS, along with his other gifts. I was honest about it. Told him to enjoy or re-gift it.
