I would never regift a homemade food gift item to anyone. (goes in the trash, unless I know them very well)
I have regifted before.

I have no problem regifting or being regifted....if the gift fits the new recipient's needs/wants/style/interests more so than it's first recipient.
Just regifting junk that no one you know would want, use or like is lazy and rude. Those kinds of things should just be donated to charity in the next donation box going out.

@BirkiLady I hope for your sake that the children don't get rid of it unless they knew how much it meant to their mother. Such a wonderful tradition.

Don't recycle gifts because it's just 4 of us but I do buy candles, bath products when they are on sale & if a birthday or some gift needed I have it.

One year we gave my aunt a present wrapped in green foil paper. She thought it was beautiful. The next year that paper was on a gift for my mom. That wrapping paper was given back and forth for years until it was worn out.

My frugal Aunt use to iron old wrapping paper & ribbon. Don't know if she regifted but she hated when anyone would tear wrapping paper.

If no one would want, use, or like it, what makes you think a charity wants it? That also seems lazy to me. It just makes it their problem to dispose of, or re-donate out to a different charity (repeat as necessary).

I don't recycle gifts. If I get something like a mug I don't need, I just put it in a box for the thrift shop.
