Ah, good times, good times.

Do you think Suan was a typo and it was meant to be Susan? I've always wondered that...

That poster made a lot of typos.

Retro never came back. And a few others because they were banned.

Okay, Einstein.

Retro was never banned. She stopped posting. She wasn't here that morning.

Anybody who was banned, eventually did come back.

I was banned and came back on Monday. I did stop posting for a while because of all the lies and accusations caused that caused so much tension on the boards. You were right in the thick of it all, moxie.

Does anyone who was present since the ShopTalk days remember chaz? Chaz seemed to know a lot about physical fitness, but 'he' would always be very cruel and mean when talking about overweight people. He had no compassion for anyone with a weight problem. Sometimes I wonder about who these people really are behind their online characters.

I learned a lot from the old war days here.

I learned to forgive and move on, or at least try.

If forgiving and moving on does not work, I learned to ignore the people and the threads I do not like.

moxie, you didn't like that particular thread because you hated the posters who were participating in it. Simple as that.

I can't keep track of most posters anymore. Frequent name changes and disappearances make it hard. I agree with you, move forward or ignore.

I think I started posting here in 1999 or maybe early 2000. My father was very ill with Alzheimer's and I watched a lot of TV with him during the 90s. He died in 2000.

My time with dad led to my discovery of QVC as we watched TV together, and then to my becoming addicted to the overnight shows on there. (I had the night shift.)

Posters I remember fondly: DrListen, jodync, catnip, lessnans, zacca, bairn, beannienutz (Mary) and her mom, and Aunt Bertie (those last three died a few years ago).

Weirdest poster award would be a competitive category: Samira was more mean than weird, but her alternate nic "FrankE." was both weird AND mean.

Who was the teacher in Houston who was so intelligent, esp. on the political threads? (Teacher was in her name, but it wasn't teacherteacher.) When the political viewpoints forum was closed she started her own for a while.

I left for almost two years because of the threads following Katrina. Some threads allowed to stand for days were absolutely intolerable.

My memory of 9/11 is that for the most part the BB came together and that there were some very moving threads at that time. (But I wasn't on that much and probably missed some bad threads?)

Burnsite, we have the "father" thing in common. My dad became very ill in 1999 and passed in 2000 as well. That's how I 'found' QVC when he and I would stay up late at night watching TV together.

The names that I bolded in your post I remember very well also. There used to be a monthly birthday thread that people would post on. As for Samira and Frank E., you hit the nail on the head.

I also recall a poster named "sugar or sugar cookie" that also livened things up along with another that had a few different nics, one in particular was "pilotswife".

Re: How Long Have You Been Posting to the Forums?

Hi, HisElk, It was a sad time, but I felt so close to my dad in those days that in some ways it made his passing more bearable. (I saw how he hated being so sick.)

SugarCookie . . . I remember she created much controversy. She was a Texan who adored her grandchildren. Do you remember Mumaw? Or Memah? Some name like that. She too was a fond grandmother; lots of people on the board decided she was a liar about her husbands cancer--then he died and there were apologies. Having done home care for someone very sick, I believed her when she posted that what she'd really like to do is drive really fast on the highway, just for a few hours. One gets to feel so housebound as a caregiver. . .
