When a vendor brings an item to QVC do they both agree on the price?  Then can QVC drop the price as they wish?

@Bonkers1  Sorry, this won't help but, Lori from Shark Tank once explained how that (your question) worked w/Q.  I forgot what she said as it was many many seasons ago when Lori was a regular Q vendor.

Re: How Does This Work?

My understanding is that QVC determines and controls the price to the Consumer.

The agreement and contract with a vendor is an entirely different relationship.  QVC can purchase thousands of a Dyson or Shark at a certain wholesale price,  but then set the retail price as it sees fit.

Sometimes I see vendors all over the place.

One day the HP guy will be selling its comp, then the next thing you know, he is selling large smart tvs.  The next day he's selling Bose or some other next best tecky thing.

I'll add that it probably varies depending upon the brand and product.

For example, QVC Group and Xcel Brands have a revenue sharing agreement based upon retail sales, but I think it's unusual.

I remember when Bantam Bagels was on Shark Tank, and they had already been on QVC or they were set to make their first appearance.  The female founder didn't hold back on her displeasure in how much QVC was charging for the bagels and the small amount they were giving her for them.

I know that everything Costco sells is on consignment, but not sure about other retailers.

I could be wrong, but I don't think QVC purchases items from vendors and then they sit in QVC's warehouse until they are sold.

I also recall years ago that if QVC was going to show a product on air that item had to be in the QVC warehouse, ready to go.  With all the "processing" delays these days, I'm not sure this is still the case.
