First, it's just the Q's "poor" and harmful QUALITY CONTROL. They shouldn't be selling it, much less permitting a host to lie in the endeavor. It should be taken off the show; apologies extended; a recall to those who wish it.

Yes...I don't care which host made the statement. This post was about one host who the OP was watching during one presentation. If another host made similar comments, and someone posted about it, we should/would be saying the same things.

This isn't to say anything bad about Shawn.
Just that anyone should do their best to be careful when dealing with any thermal hair tools.

Q and the hostess could care less. It's the number of items sold that counts. Right?

It is also the way she says things, phony balony.

All the host have as I call it a bit of the "snake oil " salesmanship in their sales pitches....even if they're saying your hair absolutely won't get stuck and their actually seeing that it's stuck! The show and sales must go on! Pitiful, because they know it's a hit in their credibility column. I've seen that stuff go on for years with so many popular hosts and products. They do work hard and make excellent bank but...don't blatantly lie, it makes me not like and trust you very much.

LOL, exactly! One host in particular will turn around and say how honest she is, but she, along with others, has no credibility with me. I'm sure there are others believe every word that is said though.

If somewhere in this thread the name of the product was mentioned, I missed it. Can someone please refresh my memory ... what was the name of that thing?

I believe it is A281062 Conair Fashion Curl Automatic Curler with Clips. Funny thing: I ordered this item on advance order. I really wanted to try something different with my hair other than natural curl look which can be sometimes frizzy! While at my stylist having highlights, I described to her the new item I had coming and was anxious to try. She disappears and comes back with one just like it! She offers to test it on my hair and instructs how to use it. One thing she said was to ALWAYS take very small strands of hair. In fact the opening is so small, I don't think you could get much hair in if you wanted to! The result was not too bad - very narrow curl; HOWEVER, I told her it's going to take me at least 45 minutes to do my hair and I have medium length! Then my granddaughter heard I was getting one and she wanted to try it when it came in. She has very long hair and I got to wondering "what if I get her hair caught in that thing?" I'll either have to pound the daylights out of it rendering it useless or send her home with a wack job done on a section of her hair. Yeah, that'll fly like pigs! I cancelled my order!

I absolutely agree, Win.
Which made me wonder why there isn't a "How Can Sandra Say That!!" followed by a "How Can Carolyn Say That!!" thread.
I watched presentations by both of these hosts who clearly stated not to be concerned because "This will not damage your hair." Really? Since when does sucking your hair onto a 400 degree curling iron not cause damage?
I didn't see all the presentaions so I have no idea how many others made the same claim, but I have to wonder, if there are so many concerns here about truth in advertising, why do the others get a pass?
What baffles me even more than the difficulity of working with small pieces of hair is that the end result isn't particularly attractive.
What's so good about having a bunch of "strings" dangling from your scalp? Reminds me of Medusa. JMO
