This pioneer woman aviator will be the oldest  astronaut ever at age 82,  when she blasts off with Jeff Bezos tomorrow.  She early trained as an astronaut but never got to fly as men were given preference.  She later worked as a pilot and flight instructor, logging 20,000 hours of flying time. 

A native of Taos, NM, she's had an amazing life and is an extremely vivacious, charming and attractive lady.  Read about her amazing life here.

What a shame that she was denied her dream due to sexist discrimination. Glad she was finally able to do it. Of course it is suborbital, but that takes nothing away from her achievement.

@Greeneyedlady21   Her problem was her timing.  She was born about 30 years too early.  If she'd waited, she could have been a military jet pilot and could have worked for NASA.
