Our house was yellow originally...a few years ago we had it painted a taupe color/sherwin williams paint and the shutters are black.  The door is burgandy.

Fast forward to this year, I want to repaint the front door.  I am thinking about black instead of repainting the same color...but then I also like the idea of a third color on the house.

What color are you leaning toward for the new house color?

I have a red brick house.  Very standard!  It has white shutters.

Arizona here and our house is medium brown with dark brown trim. We in Arizona do not paint our houses blues, greens, yellows etc. except for a few outliers. Whites, browns, grays are mostly it.

Ours was a small grey white with pale blue shutters in 1972.  Now:

A few years ago we had the stucco that was failing removed and put up slate blue Hardy Board siding.  No shutters, white trim, and a wood mid-tone door with black hardware and lights.  We also had our concrete walk replaced with flagstone.  I love it.

Nice house!

I have a suggestion!

I used to be active on Reddit...they have at least two sections concerning questions about external house changes! People write in ideas and many suggestions are from those who specialize in such things!

I always enjoyed reading those!

Ours is brick but with more brown tones than red.  There is also a fair amount of green in it.  Last year we replaced the windows and the outside frames are a rich green.  We just ordered doors.  They will be a similar color of green.

our house is brick, blue fieldstone and cement board siding...

so hard to match... i dislike the red brick and wish it was all stone.

so we went with revere pewter.... i like it well enough...

we will have to paint in the near future and will go with a light color since the sun is brutal and fades everything....

there are many color tools you can use.  you can upload your photo in SW or BM and play around with the colors...
