The last trip we took we rented a home that had a banana tree, macadamia nut trees, and mangos, all of which we were welcome to. Plus on our arrival, the owner left us a big basket of various fruits and Kona coffee beans. Whatever you decide, I hope you have an amazing time!

@KittySoftPaws  Now that is what I call a fantastic welcomig surprise.  I would surely recommend & rent from that person again.

@joann1218 Ask your travel agent.  Let them do all the research/work as they would know exactly what you are looking for.

Re: Hotel Recommendation Hawaii

@kaydee50   I didn't like the Hilton Hawaiian Village either.  It is very big and charges a resort fee and if you rent a car, it's $75 to park it yourself.  There is no breakfast included and it costs about $30 for just two eggs and toast.

It is on a busy highway and it is not fun to cross the street.  There is not much on the same side of the street.

It has it's own private beach, which is nice, but the rooms closest to it are super expensive, so mostly you have to walk to qet there.

It's not awful, but wouldn't be my choice again.  I agree with your choices.  I have stayed at both places.

We always stayed in Lahaina on Maui, my favorite place by far.  I am so sad to see it is no longer.  It was my happy place.

@joann1218   I think @Mz iMac  suggestion of a travel agent  (if you don't have one) is excellent. We used to always use one. People think sometimes  it costs more, but it doesn't, for me anyway.  We found we got best prices on everything. A seasoned agent knows, and has been to most hotels, and can find them tailored to your personal needs, and wants.  Idk if travel agents are easy to find lately, with Expedia and the ilk, and after Covid.  But it's a thought.  Have fun, either way

[ Edited ]

Maui Eldorado........on a sloped golf course, near the beach.

It might have another name now, many years later.

Nice studio condos and/or other options.

Make sure you make reservations for after their annual  (or other)  golf tournament.

See my next post for more info.
