ANY subject can and does become controversial here, it's ridiculous to cherry pick some that can go on and on and even get nasty but stop an intelligent discussion in its tracks.

I loved that line from Sense And Sensibility when the Mother told the youngest of the three daughters after telling about "Mr. F." at the dinner party she told her, " if she did not have something appropriate to say then restrict her comments to the weather"

I was raised if you could not say something nice then either not speak or talk about the weather. I guess Mom did not know all.
