Then turn it off and read Jane Eyre. Outstanding vocabulary with only a few repetitons of words. Great story too ... but such a rare command of the English language in this day and age.

Doesn't bother me. My friends, family and coworkers do it too. It's human nature.

I agree with you.
Every host has that catch phrase or word that they use over and over and over again, until you want to scream.
I have little patience with these sales pitches any more, and I rarely sit down to watch a show on QVC.

Mary Beth is a beautiful person but I cannot take it anymore. "Here's The Thing"..
Dear Mary Beth.... Here's THE thing... STOP PLEASE. Every other word is HTT! Find another phrase please and Give it a rest with Here's the Thing! Thank you

I laughed so hard this morning when during the LC show she not only gave it a "here's the thing" but added "here's the other thing". A whole lot of things!

@silkyk Yes, all during LC show, then it started up again during Lock N Lock.
Why does Q mgmt not address this as it is so annoying to listen to. No other host uses one phrase over and over as she does

I don't think the hosts can necessarily be faulted, past a point anyway, for being repetitious. How can they not be when QVC keep repetitiously programming the same things to the point of lunacy. Perhap if the hosts had more variety with which to work they might step up, but I fully understand them so often being on auto-pilot. It's mind numbing to watch (so I don't) and it must be even more mind numbing to have to try to feign interest or excitement about an item or brand, partiuclarly a rather mundane item or brand, as so many are, after having to present that same item or brand day after day for years. I mean really, how much is there to say about most of what is being shown and shown repeatedly.

Select an item from your home. A TV, a lipstick, a pair of pants and then try to talk about the item for five minutes without stopping. Then select another one and talk again for five minutes. Do this for an hour.
I suspect you will either freeze up entirely or you will find yourself repeating phrases or words. The host job is not as easy as they make it seem.
I don't watch all day every day, so this kind of stuff doesn't bother me. When I do watch, I only half pay attention to the words anyway. If I ever get to the point that everything about the presentations bug me, I would stop watching altogether.

Have NONE of you ever been in sales ???
Sales people need to create a presentation for any "thing" and cover all the key points. Then, they need to memorize it.
QVC hosts do presentations assuming there are new customers watching that never saw the presentation before, so that's what you get.
Maybe some people are just watching too much QVC?
