I just wanted to relate what could have been a very unpleasant incident that ended up reaffirming my hope that there is civility left in the world. Today, I was stopped at a light about a mile from my home when I felt this strong jolt accompanied by a loud thud. The lady in the SUV behind me had rear ended my compact car. We both turned into a side street and she repeatedly apologized and asked if I was OK. She said her foot had slipped off the brake. There are no visible injuries but my back is stiff so I will get that checked out. We exchanged insurance information and when I got home an hour later, her insurance company had left a message to call. When I called back, they assured me they would pay for the repairs to my car(minor, I hope) and any medical expenses, if necessary. What could have be an ugly situation was handled with concern and civility by all parties and for that I am truly grateful.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.
