We evacuated to my son's house....but it was a long two nights!

We lost power around 3:30 PM....and we are home today!

@Laura14 aand @SusanLouise, Punta Gorda seems to be ok! We lost a couple of trees, but our pool cage is still here, and it looks as if we never lost power.

Storm surge has been minimal- can't say that for other areas however.

It was scary, but this was nothing like Charley with all the tornadoes!

Things could have been so much worse-nobody has a crystal ball. We are glad we listened to evacuation orders.

Glad to be home,

Love and Hugs,

Poodlepet2

OK I am a total stranger, but your story and name stayed with me.  I was thinking of you and your family last night as I watched the storm updates. So glad you are doing well.

@Poodlepet2,  Glad you are okay and your home is okay.  What city are you in?  Naples really received the worse of the storm with 142 mph winds.  Take care.

Welcome home to you and yours.

Im very glad your damages were minimal.

Very scary time for all of you for sure.

My prayers go out to TEXAS and FLORIDA !  The whole country it seems have kept Texas and Florida in their thoughts as well.

For those not as lucky, God will shine his light and guide you.  As long as human life is safe the material things will be rebuilt and replaced and loved in a different way with different eyes.

Best wishes.

My sister-in-laws family lives in Naples and she told me this morning there was a lot of destruction.  She didn't go into it but was very relieved that her family was safe.
