I was a huge fan back in the day (Jessie's Girl timeframe). I got in trouble with my Mom because there was a certain number that you could call and you'd get to hear a (prerecorded) message from him. Every time you called it, you'd get charged on your phone bill. I think I called it quite a few times...

he had a small role on HBO's True Detective Season 2 - I didn't EVEN recognize him in that role - either he has gotten really bad plastic surgery or they put on a ton of makeup on him to make him look so creepy...

Yes, he had make up to look like that in True Detective! lol Its not what he looks like for real. In Ricki and the Flash, that is what he looks like. He aged the most around his eyes IMO. Thus he had sunglasses on for the concert last night.

Re: Holy cow Rick Springfield...........

I remember him well from General Hospital, and naturally loved Jesse's Girl.

Thanks, Shorty, for letting me know he is "still rockin".

And yes, he is young.  My husband will be 72 in September and he is still young as well.  Getting better each day.

Last night he played Jessies girl and right after that he went into We Can Work It Out by the Beatles. Also while playing Jessies Girl someone handed him a rose bouquet and he spun the bouquet around in circles and the petals fell all over the stage. I was thinking to myself, I wonder if that girl got mad he did that to her flowers? lol.

I am watching concert vids someone on his staff is posting on Ricks facebook page from tonights concert in Hershey, PA. They are posting them pretty fast, right after he performs them. They just sang Happy Birthday to him and he said he will be 66 tomorrow. (And oh how I wish I was at that concert which isnt too far from me in PA).

Anyway he still sounds amazing singing!

PS) I just saw him in the Ricki and the Flash movie last week. I am a fan for years.

I loved this movie, lucky Meryl Streep got to make out with Rick Springfield!!!

Re: Holy cow Rick Springfield...........

I think I am the only one who never thought Rick was a hottie...lol...and I'm 55. I never cared for his music...even Jessie's Girl. I usually changed the radio station when it came on too...LOL

My 'crush' back in the late 70's-early 80's was Chris Rea. HERE is my fave video/tune of his...

I still start to melt at the :50 mark...such a cutie!
