Re: Holiday gifts first world problems

@haddon9  It seemed like you wanted to return the gift from the start regardless of people's suggestions and ideas so you did what you wanted and I'm glad it worked out for you.

@haddon9  Firstly, if my brother had even thought to get me a turntable after mearly having a conversation about Lp's I'd be shocked and amazed!  He actually Listened!

2nd, I think I'd fess up to whatever you decide BECAUSE  I know my brother, having gifted me the turntable, would be ADDING albums to my collection at every birthday or holiday from now on.

@Biftu I do like to hear everyone's opinions. I got an interesting mix here.

I asked both of my kids as well.  My son felt that I should just keep it but didn't offer any solutions as to where to put it.....it was my problem.

My daughter felt that he would be fine and understanding.  She felt that a gift shouldn't become a burden and I agreed. It turns out she was right.  He offered to return it when I asked if he would like to come over to help set it up.

I personally never want anyone to feel that they must keep a gift that I give them.  I would hate to do that to someone if they couldn't use it or want it.

@San Antonio Gal Thanks so much!  I am glad that is over and I really was stressed about it.
