🎄Holiday Decorations: They’re up!!⛄️

[ Edited ]

IT’S HERE!

Plano (Dallas suburb):

Intersection of Preston & Park

HUGE tree w/ all the lights, garland, ornaments & packages

with a long stretch of sidewalk trees w/ those bitty-lights...

installing today!

I sat at the intersection, watching them work as

I slumped in my seat...while the A/C was cooling the

80+degree heat...and a little bit of my holiday soul was dying!

It’s gorgeous once it’s up...and I realize it’s a show-stopper

for the holidays but geeeeeze....it’s not even Halloween!

I wonder how much it costs to light all those decorations?

Has your town/city started Christmas decorating?

We have a neighbor who has had their outside Christmas lights on their house since Oct 15th, and have them lite every night since.  It's entirely too early in my opinion.

My town usually starts putting up decorations around November 1st with the tree lighting scheduled for November 24th.  Our decorations are solar powered.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Starts the Nov1, they want to get done before temps plunge & the snow flies...some years it's already too late.

I don't mind decorations early, but some have to do it before the cold sets in.  That isn't the case in Texas.  I haven't seen any movement of decorations here in the cold tundra.

There is a house I drive by a couple of times a week.  Narrow street, small yards...  Don't know if the people living there have a home daycare(?).  Anyhow, the entire front yard is full of those great big blow up lighted decorations.  Every holiday imaginable.  I always wonder what the neighbors think?

I grew up with a loving Mom, but she always reminded me of "June Cleaver."  "WHAT WILL THE NEIGHBORS THINK?"  Woman Wink

Along that same thought...Christmas Music yet?

I know some people listen all year-round...and there are

many all-Christmas-all-the-time stations on “i❤️radio” app,

as well. Mariah Carey over&over&over.

My radio station, 1310 The Ticket, here in Dallas, does a

late-night show on Christmas Eve for about 3-4 hrs.

The host pulls music from obscure sources...B side of tracks,

all from different decades from different genres.

That’s the type of Holiday music I like to hear!

Well this is just crazy.  It's October and not even Halloween yet.  I'm from Dallas and if I still lived there I'd be tempted to go by there in the middle of the night and put up a sign "Take these down until after Thanksgiving".   Smiley Wink

I don't understand this big rush into Christmas.  Retailers have to it to generate sales but I don't understand why people feel the need to rush into Christmas so early and it's funny because those same rip it all down the day after Christmas like it's diseased or something...lol  They brag about it.
