irritate me that are used constantly. Oh there are more but will only vent about these two I have heard a lot this am. First, this is the only special value by this vendor for the rest of the year. Yeah, duh there is only 2 months left in the year. And our price is under $100 dollars. Yes it is 5 cents under 100. Whoopie. By the time I pay my states tax it is well over $100. There I vented and if I had to vent about all it would take too much time. Yes before it is said I dont have to watch, I can turn the channel and no I dont looce sleep over it, etc., etc.  Have a good day.

That old ploy "it's under $20" when the price is $19.98 is a pet peeve of mine as well.  But, I don't think it's going away any time soon.  It a sales tactic as old as time.

I get tired of the same phrases over and over again too.  But the hosts are directed in what to say, so they say it.  I think they are more interested in hooking in new viewers and shoppers than entertaining the long time viewers, who can predict what the hosts are going to say before they open their mouths.

It doesn't matter what they say - if I like something and want it, I will buy it.

When they figure how many payments it is they don't include the S&H plus sales tax costs. That is part of the price. It's not free.

Me too.  They're going to use every sales ploy in the book, and I completely expect it.  That's what salespeople do.  The whole tried-and-true tactics are used for a reason, and they'll never go away.  Even though they may seem obvious and annoying, it's been proven that they work.  And sales are ultimately all that a shopping channel cares about.

I get more annoyed with fake gasping and over-the-top reactions.  There's a host who left awhile ago who did the gasping thing all the time, and I couldn't watch her.  But otherwise I find it the sales cliches amusing.  They often seem desperate to sell whatever it is they're pushing, but the bottom line for me is that I'll buy it if I want it and think it's worth the cost.  Otherwise there's nothing they can say or do that would change my mind.
