We have had several raccoon sightings in our neighborhood. Two adults have been trapped, and probably killed. Think one of them was a mommy, b/c tonite 4 babies were spotted and we were able to trap two of them, but the other two went up a tree, and are still there several hours later. I have the first two in a pet carrier, and hope we can catch the other two. I have contacted several wildlife rehab centers, but none of them can help me.
My plan is to catch all four of them, then take all of them and release them in a safe wooded area. (keeping fingers crossed!)
Anyone here ever had a similar situation?
Lots of neighbors are willing to "exterminate" them, but I can't stand the thought of that!
I have put a bowl of water in the carrier, as well as some diced apples, some peanut butter, and some kitten chow.
I am fully aware of the risk these critters pose, but I can't think of killing these babies. Help!
