Ladies...I would greatly appreciate your help in identifying the author of books with a specific character. My memory is not working lately.

A few years ago I got my husband into reading. Whatever book I would pick up and read, he would ask if it was good and if my response was affirmative he would then read it. He particularly enjoyed a mystery series where the main character was an attorney who was second in command to the District Attorney (and in later books actually became the District Attorney). This character was involved with and later lived with and then married a fiesty female attorney on his staff who had a glass eye. She could not follow the rules and progressed through many danger filled jobs but the last one I remember she had her own private eye agency with other female associates. They lived in a loft in SoHo (I think that was the location) and I think in a later book they had a child.

That is as far as my memory goes...can't remember the character names nor the author.

Can anyone help me out please. TIA!
