Help With A Decision About Adopting A Female Kitten

I currently have three indoor neutered male cats and I also have a small neutered male dog.

For almost 19 years I had a spayed female cat that I loved to death but did not like from the day she found and adopted me. I don't know how to explain my feelings. She was never slighted, got all the attention and care she should have but she was a pushy, demanding cat that was a PITA. If the entire population of the world gave her attention 24/7/365 is still would not have been quite enough. Again, I stress that although I did not like her I did love her. Guess I should mention she was only the second female cat I ever had. The first was very affectionate and wanted attention but she was not pushy about it. She was an indoor/outdoor cat. That was many, many years ago.

I was recently introduced to a four week old female kitten that I fell in love with and am thinking about bringing into my home but I have to admit that after my last experience with a female cat I am leery. Guess what I need to know before making a decision is what to expect if I adopt another female cat. Is pushiness and being demanding typical female cat behavior or was the last one an anomaly? What has your experience been with female cats.

If anyone questions whether I could continue to love this little one if she turned out to be pushy and demanding (I know that even at 8 weeks her personality won't be developed enough to tell what she will be like) the answer is an unequivocal yes. For me bringing an animal into my life is a life-long commitment to that animal to provide for it in the best way possible on every level.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
