My first return to eBay and th seller has until May 10 to refund me. He received back the item and has had it for a week. Should I sent a gentle reminder that I haven’t yet received my refund and that I will have to file a claim against him on Thursday or should I just let eBay handle it?
P.S. he has a 100% rating so I was confident in purchasing from him. He had great reviews ...

Let Ebay handle it. You'll definitely get your refund.

His lack of response since receiving your item would lead me to file the claim now.

@cactusjack If he has until the 10th, he technically hasn't done anything wrong yet. I'm assuming you went through the eBay return process and provided a tracking number on your corespondence. Wait until Friday morning. If your refund isn't paid by then you can move to filing a claim.

Yes, I went trough the eBay return process. He did receive back the package and eBay did send me a notice to inform me of this. And yes, he technically hasn’t done anything wrong as of yet. He does have until May 10 or I can let eBay step in at that time. I will take all of your ladies advice and feel confident that I will receive my refund... it’s for over $100 so I didn’t want to get ripped off... this was my first return since I started buying in 2015 so was a little nervous. Thanks for putting my mind at ease girls!

@cactusjack- Even if the seller didn't have the money to refund you, Ebay would refund your money and collect their money from the seller. You don't have anything to worry about.

If you paid for return shipping then that is also refundable. You'll need the return-postage receipt and upload it to the form on your PayPal transaction where you'll find Return shipping refunds. That refund will be credited to your PayPal account in a few days.

SilleeMee, the original posting said buyer pays for return shipping, so do I still get a refund on that? The seller sent me the wrong item so my return wasn’t just because I changed my mind or didn’t like it. I did ship it back insured & signature confirmation so was kind expensive. I’m sure the seller didn’t pay that to ship it to me.

@cactusjack by all means email him again. He should have refunded you right away. Anyone I have received a refund from on eBay does it instantly and emailed me. He may have just been very busy and overlooked doing it.. a gentle reminder is perfectly OK and is something I would do if in your situation.
