I use WEN for 2 main reasons:

It keeps my color in, and my hair smells wonderful!

My longtime stylist is fine with it.

My hair is normal (but color treated) and slightly wavy or curly.

I plan to keep using it.  Smiley Happy

I've actually gone back to Wen in the last few months.  I had used it for a while and got a little bored with it.  Went back recently and forgot how great it makes my hair look and feel.  I just need to buy one at a time instead of 3 or 4.

Years ago I tried it.  At that time it was suspected of causing hair loss.  After using it a month my stylist mentioned a bald spot on the back of my head.  Don't know if it was caused by WEN but I went home and threw it out.

It must work for some people since it is still for sale.

I like a cleansing conditioner, or CoWash as they are often called, but not exclusively.  I still shampoo once a week and clarify once a month.  However, CoWashes are becoming harder and harder to find, probably due to the lawsuits.  I think that could be more about people using them exclusively and not a problem with the product itself though.

I asked about the lack of availablity of CoWashes in a Curly Hair group the other day and all these people came back at me with how I needed to shampoo even though I said in my OP that I do shampoo like I said above.  Kinda made me mad and I let them know that I was asking for product recommendations, not advice.  I, personally, don't think people need to shampoo every time they shower and we probabaly actually shower more often than is good for our skin to begin with.  Bathing on a daily basis is actually a fairly recent trend historically speaking.

Wen really turns me off becuase of the amount of product you have to use for it to be effective, something Chaz mentioned in the midnight presentation.  IMO, if it requires that much product to work, it's not a very good product.  But, as I said, that's my opinion but also the reason I won't buy it.

I have fine thin-ish hair and WEN didn't work for me.  Had to use to much product before my hair felt clean, I think it did cause me to lose more hair, and it did absolutely nothing for my hair - no volume, no body, nothing. My hair would look and feel dirty within a day.  Tried it a couple times when Chaz first came to the Q but then threw it all out and never went back.

@Icegoddess

I feel the same way if you have to wash rinse and repeat then the product is not effective the first time.  For me it is a waste of time, money and water.

@Skyegirl21 Your experience is interesting. I have thick, dry, coarse, frizzy and naturally wavy hair. I used WEN for a couple years then I have found better products to manage my unruly hair.

On the other hand, my daughter has finer, more "normal" hair and loved WEN. -----

Interesting @cjm61 !  Everyone is unique!

@Susan345  Likewise! My hair fell out in clumps. It smelled good....especially the hair that went down the drain! Never, ever again.

I've been using for over 12 years now without fail.  My hair is full, bouncy, and I will never use anything else.

I had to laugh at a show years ago when it seemed like Wen was on constantly. He talked about the cleanser being everything and then later said he's talked to woman who say their hair isn't looking great with the cleanser and he was like "well of course you need to use this other stuff too!"

I also really hate them showing the before pics where the hair isn't even styled but that's not exclusive to this brand.
