At first Mally touted herself as a celebrity makeup artist.  Tonight she said her passion is in clothing design and is now selling her wares.  I think she lost the makeup line so if this is true is she using the design verbiage just for income?

@Bonkers1.  Nobody knows what on her mind but my guess would be she's going with whatever the traffic will bear.

To be a professional "fashion designer" is a complicated skill not learned with a snap of the fingers, with many facets.  I'd guess she's lending her name to a company or team of designers who do the grunt work, as other so-called celebrities have done.

She'll probably slap her name on a line of clothing being sold on QVC with very little input into the actual design, fabrications (as they love to say), construction, or fit, much like others I suspect.

The way some of these designers fawn over their own clothing line makes me suspect they really weren't that involved in it.  While I might be proud of something I've created, I certainly wouldn't fawn over it.

Re: Help Me Understand

[ Edited ]

@Bonkers1   I don't watch, and don't buy her products. I do know who she is, at one time she was an award winning make up artist, sought after. She was pretty big, not just here at QVC , but in the real world.  Then She had her own successful cosmetic line which she sold in 2021. Sold for millions!!!!    She is still awfully young. Maybe she is struggling to find a new niche.  Maybe to go from a fairly famous, sought after artist, and owner and director of a fairly successful company to now, she doesn't know what to do?  I imagine her kids are older too. It's an interesting place to be for sure. Been there done that. Sigh@,

ETA. she seems like a limelight type of woman, and maybe she's lost for a bit wandering to find the new best thing

I thought it was strange when I saw her on a Facebook reel yesterday recommending a Maybelline lip liner and a Maybelline lip gloss.  🤷‍♀️

That does seem odd. Several people I follow on YouTube are having difficulties with AI generated videos That might be what's happening? @JeanLouiseFinch

@Bonkers1   she did get a. Degree in fashion and fine arts at Marist College. I think she worked for a designer when she got out, but she lived for make up...or so she said.  As far as make up goes, seems like after you sell your company you can't do anything in that business with your name on it for so many years after sale.  Who knows.

It's on her page and looks like a legit endorsement.  There's one for Morpheus liners too.

If I remember correctly, she sold her company as part of a bankruptcy settlement.  Or, it was a way to stay out of bankruptcy.  But, she stayed on as a brand rep.
