Help Me Choose Some Teas to Sample

Although there are times I drink hot tea (Chinese restaurant, having afternoon tea, chai to warm me or when ill), I’m a coffee drinker over tea on a daily basis.

I got a teapot for Xmas and would like to try samples of various loose-leaf teas.

I usually drink black teas.

I love chai.

I like Darjeeling and Assam.

I don’t like Earl Grey.

I like white tea.

The only pu-errh tea I’ve had tasted too “earthy” but I wouldn’t mind trying again.

Not a fan of green tea.

Neutral on Oolong, not much experience.

Does anyone have recommendations from quality online tea vendors where I can order samples/small sizes?

I can buy tea bags anywhere or K-cups with tea, am looking for an online smallish gourmet tea type site that sells loose leaf. Like Teavana used to be but stopped being.

Re: Help Me Choose Some Teas to Sample

I just learned about a tea company called Rishi and they sell on line

I have tried several of their teas. They have a really nice Darjeeling..It is expensive but good

My son always sends me home tea when he travels aboard. I have had some wonderful teas from Sri Lanka grown in an organic rainforest

I wish I had your address ,I would sent you some. My son found some tea in Iran that has saffron in it.  I have tea from all over...It's all so good. I gave a box of the saffron tea to my Dr and she just loved it

theteaspot dot com has a store here in Colorado. They sell samplers. They have over a dozen or so types to choose from. I got the green tea sampler. Shipping is flat-rate 3.99 or free over 60. @Moonchilde

My favorites are teas from Harney & Son (harney.com). Never bitter!

They offer 2 oz. sample sizes for nominal price.

Favorite flavored blacks are Boston, Capri, Paris and Florence....(I could go on...)

Harney and Sons Tea Co. has a wide variety of quality teas.  I have ordered many times from them and never disappointed.  The have various sampler packs for trying different flavors.

@cherry, your other thread about tea is why I started this thread. Gotta use that pot ;-) but I don’t do coconut.

I’ll look Rishi up & check it out, thanks. I don’t have as much choice of Mediterranean shops as I used to since I moved, but I still should be able to find some Persian tea. I love Turkish apple tea. There is a Turkish decor shop on Cannery Row and now a Turkish baklava & Turkish coffee place is opening next door. I have not liked the Turkish coffee I’ve had, but am open to try again and I’m sure they’ll have tea too - and FRESH baklava. I can’t wait until they open!

Re: Help Me Choose Some Teas to Sample

@Moonchilde  my son brought me home tea from Germany, which has a lot of  Turkish people  living there. They are big tea drinkers ,and there is a brand called Dalrymple ,or something like that  they use

It is really very nice. You can probably find it on line
