Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

Yes, it most certainly changes a person forever. That person and everyone that knows them grieves the loss of the person they once were almost like a death. Unless you've been through it you have no idea the torture a brain injury creates.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

Something like this can happen to any one of us at any time, anywhere. Especially now-a-days with drivers being so unaware of what they are doing. Around here, I'd say that 90% of the drivers are looking down, texting. It is so very scary, it's almost unimaginable. That danger is all around us, and I understand and respect what RRR and others are going through. Always putting myself in others' places.

I've visited many medical rehab facilities, and many, many are mid-aged folks who were in accidents, or had some type of critical medical problem. As I always say, bad luck can strike any second, any time, anywhere. Respect others' misfortune and struggle.

If 90% of the drivers around where you live are texting, please tell us where this is so we can avoid the area.

ivanatrump: I know it's hard to believe, but believe me, it's true. Everyone (who doesn't text and drive) around here is complaining. Totally ridiculous. I was almost hit head-on my quiet street.........texting mom looking down, texting, oncoming in MY lane (wrong side of the street). I had to honk so she would 'look up' and move over to her lane.........'just in the nic of time', as she was driving very fast in our residential area/street. I truly wish that I were exaggerating.......{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Lots of drivers around here speeding just to get to our local St*rbucks, too............It's almost funny (yet dangerous) to see where they 'end up' after quickly weaving in and out of traffic. Talk about frantic addictions...........

Zerbina, you seem really sweet...

That's all...{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Thank you! My sister suffers (and I do mean SUFFERS for it is an ongoing pain that does not go away) a brain injury from a car wreck where a steel rod went through her right eye and into her brain. Even though she survived she lost her right eye. I see on a daily basis how she struggles with life and it just pisses me off to see anyone with a similar injury being mistreated!{#emotions_dlg.angry}

I am so so sorry for what you sister had to go through and still does. It is a hard road and people that have never had one don't get it.........have you visited www.tbiguide.com? I love this site and it answers so many questions............I will keep your sister in my thoughts and what is great about me and her is that I understand what she feels and is going through..........how kind of you to love her........

Wow RRR! A Boyfriend and ten years younger to boot - you cougar you lol!!

I understand not jumping into anything as it is a lot going on. You have the falling out with your son, financial/health worries, now this mess with your hot water heater. Is this the same man that you were discussing awhile back he didn't respond to your text's and thought he was using you as a babysitter?

How did it progress so rapidly from that to now being in a relationship and calling him your boyfriend?

It is fantastic that you have enough respect for yourself to not hop right into bed with him ..and that you are waiting for marriage..that said - in this day and age it is great to be born again virgin so to speak but we are not talking 20 here..regardless of the man - they are going to want the natural progression in any adult relationship ...they are not going to hold out for marriage..and offer marriage.

There is quite a age difference and I say have fun with this guy, enjoy yourself, kick back, relax and just have FUN..let your hair down. I am not saying hop in the sack with him tonight - I am saying it is great you are taking your time..THAT SAID..I am going to be honest here..not may men in this day at that age are going to go without if they are in a monogamous relationship with a woman....he may respect your wishes to a certain point but there comes a time when a man (or even woman) want the next natural progression on a relationship - and again I am not talking about teens here but older men.

I agree that it is great you are taking your time but you need to be a bit flexibile on somethings. I understand you want long term..you want marriage - and I hope that happens for you..but not many men in their late 40's are going to want a seckless relationship for too long...men are men! So you both need to be on the same page.

Enjoy yourself for once and take the stick out so to speak and HAVE FUN..!!

I agree with you 100%. I was divorced for many years and I can certify that men, no matter what age, 40's, 50's, 60's, don't wait too long before wanting it all. It is the nature of the beast.

That's right... they are not going to wait around for that.
