Our central heat air is almost 18 years old..It never has given us much trouble, just never seem to cool or heat the house down and we had to be careful because we used Propane to heat with.
Propane has jumped from .99 cents to 2.59 cents a gallon. W are now trying to decide if we should just ditch the propane furnace and go with total electric with a elec. heat pump..Hate to get rid of furnace since it still works. . Dh and I are wondering if the new unit would be better because it would be up to new gov. standards ..
We of course hate to spend the money and have a huge electric bill each month..We would be paying a 1000.00 to get the propane filled , which last about 5 or less months...
We are 58 and 60 years old and wonder if it would even be worth all the change now..
