Some items are excluded from SNAP, so at the checkout those items are separated from the others and are paid with cash or  credit card. The items that have been excluded make it obvious.

That's a great theory, but not everyone has multiple family members who look out for others. Yes, we all "should" look out for each other, but please don't assume that's what happens most of the time.  

I know several people who have no living relatives at all.  It's not as uncommon as you seem to believe.

The reading comprehension issues I see on these boards always leaves me shaking my head. I'm not going to repeat myself again and I'm not assuming anything. I'm just pointing out how things are supposed to work because too many didn't seem to get the memo.

Again, reading comprehension. Nowhere did I say 'everyone' - I always acknowledged that there are some without family to help. Furthermore, you have no idea what my lifestyle is or what lengths I've gone to to make ends meet over the years. You've obviously been triggered and have your own stuff to deal with which explains your responses.

@occasionalrain   Yes,I know that.  paper goods, cleaning products, etc are excluded.

I know when I go grocery shopping, I am too busy trying to get my products upon the belt to worry about what someone is buying.

Occasionally, I might notice someone is using a benefit card, but not too often. I don't see it often...and I grocery shop a lot...a few times a week.

I don't look or care about what people buy.  it's none of my business.

I don't shop for the week nor bring along a list. I stop at multiple stores a few times a week  and seldom buy more than 10 items in any one of them.

I do notice what others are buying and sometime see an appealing item that  I then buy too. Since prior to it being purchased, items belong to the store and, therefore, is every other shopper's business.

Today, they use a loaded debit like card.  How do you know if they're using a bank card, credit card or an EBT Snap card?

Unless you're the cashier, you would have no idea.

That poster acknowledged that the woman in question was using her own cash, but twisted the tale to start raging against food benefits, having nothing to do with the shopper initially discussed.  Just a convenient jumping off point.

Sticking your nose into another shoppers food cart seems fairly twisted (to me.)  I've never paid attention. 

Typical here to demean the less fortunate.

@ThinkingOutLoud   You keep telling us how things are supposed to be, and I all I was trying to explain is that you don't decide how things are supposed to be for others, just like I don't decide what you do or what you believe.  You know, free will, personal freedom and all that...
