Heard on the Radio This Morning

that 50% of the identified CV cases are in three states--California, Washington, and New York and two counties---Cook County, Illinois, and I think the other one was New Orleans County, Louisiana.  We just had the first case identified in the county to the east of us.  None in the county west of us, several in the county north of us and the county south of us is in another state so I'm not sure about that.  Getting too close for comfort.

You may want to do some more research. Sadly, ALL 50 states have cases. The highest concentrations are in the states you mentioned

Lianne:  If you read my post again, I posted that 50% of the cases are in three states.  That means that the other 50% are in other states.  And, I just did my research--Utah, New Hampshire, and West Virginia have only 1-10 cases in their states.  The other 44 states have more than 10 cases reported.

It only means that they haven't been tested yet or show symptoms.

I think the areas with the most cases are due to international airports with huge amounts of people passing through. We live in wa state and have been staying home for three weeks now.

Also, in the case of New Orleans (Orleans Parish), it's believed that Mardi Gras caused the large number of cases.  People flew in from all over the world and crowded together for the festivities.  It's believed that coronavirus began to spread in the community at that point. Horrible timing, because Mardi Gras took place just before everyone in the US started to become aware of the dangers of this virus.  Had it been a few weeks later, everything would have been cancelled.
