I started going to Lancaster to the outlet 20 years ago, I always got great bargains on jewelry, linens, clothing, even luggage, purses. it is like walking into to your TV screen if you are used to watching on TV a lot. But in the last 5 years the thrill is worn off and last time I went did not buy a thing. Tax free on clothes, and shoes. That being said, Rockvale is a huge outlet center and there will be many other stores that will interest you. Up the road closeby is Tanger, another great outlet center.

It's been ten years since I've been to Lancaster (and it sounds like QVC store hasn't changed) but the best thing in the immediate area is Good n Plenty Amish Restaurant (at crossroads of Intercourse and Paradise).  When we first tried to find it, we drove around for half an hour (pre GPS), passing buggy after buggy.  Eventually we found it, and you can even SEE Rockdale Mall in the distance.  My family likes this place so much that one visit we took our 16 year old Son there, he overate so much that we had to stop the car...next night we went again!  The food is authentic PA Dutch and everything is served family style at long tables.

By far, the best reastaurant there is Miller's, a buffet that is amazing, and food is high quality, worth every penny.

We ate there when we were visiting over the summer. It was so good we unanimously decided to go back the next day instead of trying a different place. Worth every penny!

Yes, lots of other buffets in that area, but the quality of Millers is unsurpassed. I signed up on their site and they send me a free dinner every year for my bday, we have not been in the area since 2015, so that was the last time I was able ot use the freebie. But usually $3 off coupons on their site.

You know for those with a smaller appetite or counting calories, etc, they do offer mini versions of the buffet for a lesser price, I have gone that route a couple of times.

Best part to me is the amazing steamed shrimp!!

@Grammyto3  I don't know what your dinner plans are or how long you'll be in the area, but I'd like to make two suggestions.

If you'd rather have a nice sit down meal, I would recommend the Revere Tavern. It's on the same road (Lincoln Highway / Route 30) as QVC. If you exit the Rockvale outlet from the main highway (Route 30) turn right. It's about a 20 - 25 minute ride. Right before you come to the Revere, you'll pass Jake's Country Trading Post on the right side of the road. If you have time, it's definitely worth a stop. It's like a general store on steroids!! Past Jake's, the Revere will be on your left. It's part of the Best Western and the tavern is right off the highway in the front of the property. Very good food, service and atmosphere. There's a fireplace in the dining room and in the bar area.

Both Jake's and the Revere are in Gordonville. Both are online so you can check them out before you go. There are two hitches: Jake's closes at 5pm, and  the Revere doesn't open until 5pm.

@lmt  Have you been to the Fraizer store? Much nicer, more like a department store. Stay on Route 30 for maybe 20 miles.
