The days are getting shorter. I iive in the Seattle suburbs and being so far north, we've already lost about 2-3 hours of daylight. I'm glad the long, hot days of summer are over.

I'm in the midwest, we took the dog for her evening walk, usually we go at dusk - tonight we got back home and I was thinking it was 9:30, ugh it was only 8:30....long dark evenings are depressing.

We haven't lost that much daylight, but it is getting dark earlier. I'm in SW PA and it's dark around 8:00 now. The days are getting cooler and so are the nights. Today was an absolutely glorious day! Went up to 70 degrees, the sky was blue, the clouds were white and fluffy and there was a light breeze. Going down to 48 tonight. We will still have a few hot days here and there, but fall is definitely on it's way. My husband and Son-in- law closed the pool yesterday and we haven't been running the air conditioning, so I think I shouldn't have any more $300 electric bills. Yay to that!

hate daylight savings time anyways, so i am looking forward to the darkness to return at decent hours.

Here in SE MD by the coast it gets dark around 8 now and it was in the 60s tonight. Too chilly for me. I know a lot of folks love Fall but it's my least favorite time of year besides winter. I can't stand it getting dark by 5-5:30 because I'm an outside person. I have loved the brutal heat we had this summer and yes, I sat out in it either at the beach or on my screened in deck. The only time I was inside was to ride the Peloton or walk the tread or cook a meal. I have probably sweat off 10 pounds 😳. Boy I sure hope we have a balmy winter.

I am in Arizona and I definitely have noticed it.

Well yes. Every summer starting June 21 we begin to lose two minutes of daylight a day until December 21. Then we gain two minutes of of daylight until June 21, which is the longest light day of the year.
This pattern repeats every year.
I am in PA. It is still sunny and hot and of course, it is still summer.
Fall doesn't officially begin until September 23. Our weather has been about 80 degrees, but it does cool down at night.
We normally go from summer right into winter...our fall weather hardly exists anymore. I don't like when it gets dark early in the evening...it's depressing.

Yes. I have outdoor lighting, and I am constantly changing the timers.

@GoneButNotForgotten yes I have noticed as well. I am an early riser so I notice the late sunrise.
I have a lot of work ahead getting the gardens prepped for winter. I love 4 seasons but I could take a shorter winter.
