And, also, most (actually all) of my longtime friends' daughters have attended colleges and eventually settled down with their spouses/families in very nearby locations. Sons, too. Truly 'win-win' situations, in many cases.
Yes, we are all Jersey girls. The furthest away is daughter #3 who lives on LBI. That's 55 miles and takes an hour, but #2 is 20 minutes away, and so is #4, unless there's a lot of traffic.
#1 is the estranged one. She lives in a condo in Philly.

Others who are insecure in their position or life, will either distance themselves from you, remove you ( demote, reassign, fire ) from themselves, or denigrate you and your accomplishments. In one case, I know of someone who wasn't hired because he posed a threat to the number one guy, this happened often. When I was in corporate America, I always wanted the best around me and groomed them to take my place so I could move up. So good luck to both your daughters - they'll thrive and move up for sure.
Thank you for that, jlkz.
That is exactly what happened to my youngest. Her "supervisor" was getting too many accolades from their clients regarding her work. He didn't like it.![]()

Ah, yes I do . . . they don't want to take it, but I make them take it. It wouldn't matter to me where the money was coming from, I would pay them if I had it, and I now have it.
Interesting that you would know about that as you weren't around when that was going on . . . nic change perhaps?
No nic change. I started reading in the spring. My parents have LTC insurance and tried to collect for my father. I thought I read about you paying your daughters. Back in April you commented. Why would I remember? Because my parents found their policy would pay for a bonded healthcare worker.
Put LTC into the search box and the thread pops up.

I don't look up other people's old threads, so thanks for the info, but I won't be doing that.
I am fortunate, my policy calls my home care "informal care." So I do not have to have bonded healthcare workers. I would hate that anyway. I had a talk with my representative about it during the process and he totally agreed it is risky to have strangers of any kind in one's home, especially an older, disabled person who lives alone.
