Max Lucado.  He is a Christian pastor and author of may books.  When my late husband graduated to heaven 9 years ago I took it very, very hard and came close to dying myself.  I was hospitalized in ICU for almost 3 weeks.  I had lost my will to live and what saved my life was his book " You Can Get Through This". when I finished that one I read his other books and still listen to his devotional messages live on FB.  He has such a calming and comforting affect and he is so transparent.  My daughter and I went on a ALaska Cruise ( Holland) and Max Lucado was doing a series on the ship.  I got to meet him and his wife and talk to them several times.  They are sweet, humble and genuine in person.  An experience I will never forget.

These are great, thank you one and all!

I forgot to mention that I sent Bonnie Hunt a handmade strand of beads with earrings back when she had a talk show.  I never got any kind of answer so I guess whoever opened her mail for the show got them Cat Sad

My brother and I wrote to the astronauts after the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. They sent back a lovely card that I framed. My brother and Neil Armstrong are gone, but the other two astronauts, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin, are still alive.

@golding76

We checked .... apparently her mother signed most of the pics sent out - real Harlow signatures are rare.

The two I have were signed by her mother.  Worth something .... but not much. (I have both my father's and his friend's photos.)

The fact that they were signed "To: ...(name)" makes them worth something to me.

As a young child I was fascinated by outer space and the planets.  One of my baby teeth fell out the day John Glenn returned to Earth after the first Earth orbit.  I was so excited at the incredible coincidence and wrote a letter to him saying that I had named my tooth the John Glenn Tooth.  He wrote a very nice letter back thanking me for the honor and included a large color photo of him in a spacesuit.  No invitation to go to outer space though.

Famous to me but probably not to many others.  In years past, I was an IU Hoosier basketball fanatic.  Back when Alan Henderson was playing (early 90's, I think) I sent an email to him and a couple of his teammates but Alan wrote back.  It was short and sweet but I appreciated him taking the time to do that.  For years, I had that e-mail but I think I finally deleted it.

I have never written a fan letter but it is so interesting to read about all of the ones here.  Thank you.

When I was 13 rs old I sent a birthday card to Queen Elizabeth because we share a birthday, April 21.  I got a letter from her Lady In Waiting, stating it was written by the Queens command.  I have it framed along with with my picture in the local newspaper and an article about it.
