I appreciate threads that are locked but not poofed. That way, people can make up their own minds as to the "cause" (or causERs) for the locking. And of course, when a thread is locked you can still "read all about it."

Poofed threads - WHO started the thread along with the thread title will USUALLY tell me all I need to know. The rest - who wouldn't be curious, if you're here often?

Some moderators don't seem to be aware there is a "closed for commenting" option. I appreciate the ones who do.

I think the responses are still there, you can read them but it's locked so no one else can add to the conversation.

I always wonder about the closed threads..they must have been interesting if they stirred up controversy.I like a little spirited conversation...not mean spirited though.

Locked threads don't tell the whole story when posts are extracted throughout.

If they are locked, I don't want to know.  People can be so rude and mean.  Another type of post that I'm seeing getting locked are the ones about former hosts and I'm personally glad the mods are locking those.  These folks left and if people want to follow them on social media they are free to do that.  The posts always cause negative reactions.
