When my computer was infected with a bad virus, one of the first things I was asked was if I used GIFs. When I said no, I was told they are frequently troublesome.
This has nothing to do with any one poster.
Hey Lulu, I'm not an expert but I think the problem would come to the person who downloaded the gif? Not just seeing it here? Doobdoo could probably speak to that issue.

Whatever you think best, Suzie. But your funnies are appreciated by many of us. Don't let a few make you feel bad about expressing yourself with your pictures. A picture or gif here and there is certainly nothing for anyone to get bent out of shape over. Why those who don't like them can't just scroll past is a mystery to me. Goodness knows I have to scroll past lots of things I don't care for.
No one was trying to make her feel bad. WE were doing nothing more than expressing an opinion. It wasn't personal, but the part of your post I bolded feels personal. Was it meant to be?
I haven't taken anything personal- I just happen to be the one that had more gifs than anyone so they're gone- next time I'll put them in the appropriate thread- no biggy..

That's such an important point, and it bears repeating and repeating. It's happened here more than once, and I remember a poster saying she had to pay to have her computer "dis-infected" after being exposed to a GIF on these forums.

Wouldn't you have to click on the gif to get infected?
I don't think QVC would allow them if you could get infected just by seeing one.

Don't want to quote again. We cross-posted, scottie. I guess I have to say, I didn't feel any of the responses were scolding in nature. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Anyone do an act of kindness today? I got really dizzy in the grocery store and our friend Jim took one side while my husband helped me too.. that was nice of both of them...

Did you see the posts I referenced? They were scolds. In my opinion.

No, not always. That's why it's a precarious situation. I've seen a couple of threads that were so badly infected they had to be removed by the moderator (not here in Viewpoints).

To those that might be concerned about a gif from me, I have topnotch security on my computer- my computer husband makes sure of that so I am clean.. ![]()

Example from #341 QUOTE: As an aside, I see we had to junk up this thread with the photos. ![]()
END QUOTE.
I see that as a scold due to the words "junk up this thread"
