@ECBG, that is unfortunate..the Talbots in Westport was a boutique not in a mall...they did move us around when more associates were needed at other boutique stores...it was located in an excellent location and always quite busy....I worked just for the discounts and being able to be in charge of my hours..I only wanted 20 or so hours...Talbots has changed a lot..if not mistaken they were sold to a company outside of the states...although this is one of my favorite places to shop....the quality has gone down hill like many other stores.. Each of the boutiques has a different feel...I find the customer service much better in the smaller stores...I don't enjoy the mall stores as much...but that is probably just me...not sure how others feel..the boutiques were stocked better and were more welcoming.

Wishing you the best of luck..go visit the store and try to get a feel for it...if possible ask how folks enjoy working at the store...most of my associates were not looking for full time hours..many were corporate wives...busy driving children to private schools,etc..talbots was very accomodating.

The one thing that shocked me about Westport and the boutique stoes in that area was the failure to go after shoplifters..and the criminals knew this...they would ask if you had taken something...if you replied no..Talbots never used the security folks..not even sure Westport had a guard..the other bothersome thing to me were the folks with money purchasing clothes...wear it and return to the store..no questions were asked.

@gracie2014 @KathyPet,Thanks ladies. Having been in retail since 2009 and speaking to security people, they would rather be sure than be taken to court for false accusations.

In smaller stores, I'm sure upseting other shoppers is a concern as well.

I've already gotten one shoplifter caught when I worked at Belk. I was showing him a $6,000 Levian ring and just had a very bad feeling. I asked the young man if he minded if I got my glasses and called security.

Two security guys came and were behind displays around me. He had the ring on his finger, said "I'm sorry", and took a leap that must have been 10 feet! They chased him and had him "hog tied" not six feet from my counter.

Bless his mother. She came to apologize to me the next day and I was off.
