Has anyone used Bear Pepper Spray ?

My two dogs were attacked by a loose boxer on Sunday. My Otis has a bite mark on the top of his head. He's ok, thank god, but my husband was shaken by the incident. My husband was walking our two sheltie/beagle dogs and the boxer got loose. My husband had a spray but it did not work. Has anyone ever used Bear Pepper spray ? We do not want to hurt other dogs but, my husband had to hold a 70lb boxer in one hand and our dogs back. The owner came but he bought his other boxer he was walking with him, so another dog my husband had to fight off !!!
