Has anyone seen Ringo in person?

Has anyone seen Ringo perform in person? If so how was it? I like all of the Beatles but I am thinking its better or should I say more worth it, to see Paul. Simply because he does way more Beatles tunes as he sang most of them. Although I like Ringos tunes too.

The reason I ask is my teen granddaughter would like to see Ringo (her favorite) and we are thinking of getting her tickets for her 16th birthday.

She doesnt know about it but after the Beatles 50th anniversary special she said "I would rather see Ringo when I turn 16, then have a car" Haha I feel the same about Paul! (Not that we were going to buy her a car, her parents maybe but not us..lol)

My grandkids are here over night (sleeping now). I am so glad to have them because with all the snow we had I haven't seen them since the beginning of Jan (they live an hour away).

Anyway, we watched the movies Help! and A Hard Days Night. I love how my oldest granddaughter loves the Beatles. Tomorrow we are all going to jam and play on Beatles Rock band for WII.

So tickets to Ringo would be an amazing gift. (Hoping he is not sold out for this summer). This is why I ask.

No, I haven't..... Does Ringo sing Beatles songs at his concerts, or just his own, anyone know?

Seen Paul 3 times....fantastic!!!

I think this is reason enough.

Re: Has anyone seen Ringo in person?

I saw Ringo and his all star band about 4 or 5 years ago and it was a great concert. Actually, I have seen many concerts and his concert was one of the best. Very entertaining and fit for all audiences, unlike some others. The all stars really brought back many memories. Ringo has a good voice and I love how he plays the drums.

I saw Ringo and his all star band at the Garden State Arts center, its a fun show, each performer sings their own stuff and then they all do a few number together

Re: Has anyone seen Ringo in person?

Hi shorty-

I have seen Ringo 2 times-he's ok, not really a performer like Paul is. I actually found his concerts to be boring, other than the fact he's a Beatle. I won't see him again.

He tours with an "All Star Band"-different guys over the years.

He come out and does a song or two, then the other musicians do some songs, then Ringo comes back on-it goes like this through the whole concert.

Save your money and see Paul again-rumors are starting to circulate right now about his tours dates-I'm confident he'll do the US again!!

Oh duh..I see this is for your granddaughter's BD.

If she wants to see him then get her the tickets.

Just make sure she knows he's not on stage that much, where Paul does almost 3 hours without leaving the stage.

Paul's concerts are much, much better than Ringo's. (as you already know){#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I saw Ringo twice with his all star band. The first time the all stars were better. I would not go again.

A 16 year old would really have to love oldies to enjoy the show.

Re: Has anyone seen Ringo in person?

From the OP- Thanks for the replies and information. I appreciate it!

I checked, and Ringo is sold out in PA :-( If I cant find tickets through another source, (probably paying extra for the PA show), that would mean getting tickets and a motel in NJ or NYC. I talked to my daughter about it. DH and I would not take her if we cant get PA tickets. My daughter would then take her. (My back is too bad for traveling to NJ and NYC and staying in motels). So we are discussing it.

And yes, G- Daughter loves the Beatles and older rock music (not much of the new stuff that's out there now).

I know she would be on cloud nine! (even though I personally agree Paul would be better due to the list of songs he sings compared to Ringo).

I have not seen any of the Beatles live :-( My brother had seen the Beatles long long ago of course and he has seen Paul his last tour. (I may consider seeing Paul if he comes back to Philly).

Well I will check around more for Ringo tickets in the meantime and see what we can come up with.

Thanks again.
