I keep bleach far away from my washing machine. I use Oxy detergent and add a extra scoop of Oxy powder to white and light color loads.

This a trip down memory lane.

Anyone else remember cloth diapers?  My, the bleach we went through.

There are options to using bleach. Bleach is hard on the fabric.

If you have a stain on clothes ,try a small amount of dawn,had luck with this i only use white wash cloths, i will say every so often i load them in the washer,and wash with detergent with small amount of bleach, but will say bleach is hard on fabrics,try mule team ,or arm and hammer washing soda.

I wash whites alone - no matter what the fabric. 

I use Arm & Hammer washing sode along with Arm & Hammer detergent.  

I don't have any issues with whites

(My mother was impressed with my whites!)

My children all wore cloth diapers.  I used a diaper service though.

My two youngest were in diapers at the same time and one had to wear three diapers at a time to keep his legs out to the side to correct a leg issue.

I paid about $7 a week for 90 diapers and got an additional 100 for only a penny more a piece.  Those were the days.  That was my splurge.
