@CoffeeNut We had to have a car repaired about a year ago when someone hit us. We don’t have Progressive but I think the insurance companies all work about the same. We live in a state where we can take our vehicle where we want it fixed so we took it to a body shop that does great work. And we are a no fault state so we worked with our own insurance company rather than the person’s insurance company who hit us.
Our insurance company initially gave us a lowball estimate that they felt would fix it based on pictures we had to send them and immediately sent us a check for that amount before we even got an estimate from our body shop. Well the body shop told us that was too low to fix it but that all the insurance companies do that and that they would work with the insurance company and it would all work out in the end. And it did. The body shop gave them a detailed list of what needed to be done and the insurance company coughed up more money. Don’t cash any checks from the insurance company until all repairs are approved and done. We ended up with three checks from the insurance company and we signed them directly over to the body shop when the work was final.

Take your car where you want to have it repaired. Progressive does NOT have your best interests in mind. They want to do it on the cheap.

I have experience with them. Do NOT go to Progressive’s (or any other insurance) “preferred” repair shop. You will he ripped off. You can take your car somewhere that you trust. Do not let them pressure you and do not believe everything they tell you. They are not your friends.

I recommend u take ur car to a bodyshop with the AAA sign. If ur a member of AAA that's great because any problems, AAA will handle it. Never take ur car to the bodyshop recommnended by the insurance company of the person that hit u. It's your choice.

I've had Progressive for years. I actually switched to them after someone who had Progressive hit me. Their service was so good and painless, I became a customer.

Have had dealings with them for a claim. Yes you do have the option of taking it anywhere, however the entire process at their center was very quick and efficient. Repairs were done quickly and the to my satisfaction. Anything that they find extra is quickly resolved with the adjusters on site rather than the back and forth that may occur between another facility.I was informed what was going on along the way and had final approval that the repairs were done right. Would not hesitate to do it again.

You can take your car any place you want to take it however that doesn't mean the insurance company will fork over what your "preferred" shop wants to charge.
