Re: Has Anyone Been To A Sprouts Grocery Store?

Hi Noel, I like the store. Like a Whole Foods Market. I like Sprouts.

LOTS here in DFW. Beautiful display of produce....and the supplement area is very well represented. Prices are just a smidge lower than Whole Foods, but I have to travel further to get to it, so....6 of one kind, 1/2 dozen of another.

Thanks! Smile This is good news.

Hello LR Smile Thank you, now I'm happy about the coming opening. I do not like the usual choice of Safeway or Lucky's. We do so much of our shopping at Trader Joe's, but their produce section is so limited.

I shopped there before they changed their name (it used to be Henry's). I initially tried them years ago because union workers were picketing chain supermarkets and things had gotten pretty heated between shoppers and employees. Henry's was nonunion and I could shop without confrontation. I love it. I go to Sprouts or Jimbos. Both are great.

Thanks, Gato Smile You're lucky to have choices. I can't believe SF doesn't have more, what with all the foodies here.

Also, they have a deli section that makes sandwiches upon request and they're much cheaper than Whole Foods....like around $4.99. They probably sell salads and sides too....haven't really taken a super close look but will next time. (I don't eat sandwiches or sides but dh does).

I really like Sprouts. They have a pretty good deli, meat/fish counter, and tasty baked goods in addition to nice affordable produce. What I really like is their vitamin/supplements section and there is usually someone available in that department to help if you need assistance. Love their stuffed salmon!

Re: Has Anyone Been To A Sprouts Grocery Store?

I go to Sprouts every week, but try NOT to go on Wednesday, that is when they honor both weeks' specials, and it is ALWAYS packed! I much prefer it to Trader Joe's, since I do most of my cooking from "scratch" per se. Much of TJ's is ready made and all you do is pop it in the oven or microwave, or ready made salads. Where I live, they are practically across the street from each other.

Sprouts has quite a large selection of organic veggies, and that is what I go for mostly. That and also for their large selection of supplements and vitamins that my DH buys far too much of. They also have a very large selection of frozen organic goods. Their prices are much more reasonable than Whole Foods, and I have one of those not far from that same area which just reopened with a very wide selection, almost overwhelming for a 2-person household.

I do not often buy meat there, although I have on occasion and have never been disappointed. There is not a large selection, but I do find it superior to TJ's. We tend to get our meat at Sam's Club and find that to be superior as they have started carrying organic type chicken and have frozen wild salmon there also.

Hope I have helped!

I saw they have deli dinners, that sounds good to me!

Hi Mysterri, oh, I love a good fish counter! You don't see them that often anymore, and when you do, it's the same old, same old.

I've only recently gotten into supplements, so that's good to hear Smile

You *have* helped, 4KICKS!

I'm really looking forward to the organic veggies! I have 95% fat free ground meat every so often, so your review of meat is encouraging.

I cook from scratch, also, with a few exceptions. Trader Joes has a good cornbread mix, and good banana or pumpkin bread mixes that get good reviews. Good to have on hand if someone will be stopping by your house and you don't have time to run out. I usually get a couple for the holidays.

Thank you for your review and hints Smile
