I watched a Hard Core Pawn show a day or two ago; not sure if it was new or old. I was struck again with all the swearing by Les and his kids. He doesn't want customers to swear at him, but he swears like a trooper. Ditto for his kids. Something that REALLY bothers me is the way Seth and his sister (forget her name) get into arguments with customers, and then the sister actually continues shouting in response to the customer's shouting as he's leaving the store, etc. Doesn't she know that silence actually does speak louder than words? The show I watched seemed to have more of that. (It was the show where the daughter screams, literally, and then walks out.)
And then - again - the way the two children face off with each other. The sister seems to be worse than her brother, and the expressions on her face are quite ugly. Honestly, she needs someone to work with her on her facial expression in repose, even. She looks mean and angry; no wonder some of the customers don't like her from the start.
Please don't tell me not to watch; I find the customers fascinating. I've taught customer service at a university and at a big hospital, and I can only imagine what these people's home life is like.
